A highly successful food manufacturer of own label products supplying the major retailers, who are currently investing in their future and are looking for an experienced Project Engineering Manager to join the team

This role manages a diverse range of projects across the manufacturing facilities. You will be involved from concept through to installation working with key stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that the projects are delivered to the right specification and follow the critical project plan. You will have the independence to plan your workload across the multiple projects working closely with internal and external teams. Great opportunity with lots of scope to work on major cap ex projects across line installations, equipment improvement and infrastructure.
What will the role involve? As the Project Engineering Manager, you would:
- Managing multiple projects of varying values from the initial proposal through the completion.
- Work as part of a cross functional team to deliver the agreed objectives of the engineering project encouraging a 'one team' culture.
- Manage projects against budget and timings ensuring timely and consistent updates to the stakeholders involved.
- Management of contractors on site through the duration of the projects.
- Actively seek out new technology that would enhance the business processes and facilities.
- All new machinery coming to site to be fully commissioned with all handover documentation to the engineering teams and full training package for both engineering and the wider operational teams.
- Continually setting out best practice in project management with weekly reporting on key deliverables.
- Presenting project updates to the senior team.
In terms of background the ideal candidate will have:
- A project engineering background ideally in an FMCG environment.
- Examples of delivering multiple projects.
- Previous success of devising capex budgets and working within the boundaries to deliver the projects.
- Experience of working with a variety of stakeholders both internal and externally to deliver the project remit.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to get involved in the detail and work to time constraints.
- Ability to plan, prioritise the key areas within a project and ensure targets are met.
