Lemon Drizzle recruitment has been appointed to recruit a Project Estimator for a turnkey design and fit out contractor based in Gateshead.



An introduction to the Company and what it’s like to work for them



This is a well-established design & fit out contractor who mainly work in the hospitality sector across the UK. Projects range from 50k – 2m and are designed in house and installed by the company. They are based in fully refurbished, open plan offices in Gateshead and have a relaxed and casual culture. Flexibility is a key part of the company culture, and the team can choose where to work to fit around their out of work commitments.  



What you’ll be doing and be responsible for



As part of the Commercial Department, the key responsibilities of the Project Estimator are the production of quotations from enquiries received and purchasing and cost management on projects won. This involves working with the Sales, Design and Operations departments and suppliers and subcontractors to create detailed quotations, send purchase orders, manage project costs and approve supplier invoices to agreed company quality standards; within agreed margins; against agreed timescales and in line with client requirements.

Who is this role ideal for?



This opportunity would suit an Estimator who has experience in fit out projects up to 2m. You will also be involved in procurement and project delivery, so experience of running small jobs post contract award would be highly advantageous.




  • Degree, Foundation Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying / Construction Cost Management / Building Services / Estimating or similar cost management related qualification would be advantageous.

  • Project estimating/costing for internal fit out works projects.

  • Cost and purchasing management throughout a project’s lifecycle.

  • Supply chain management.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • General IT knowledge (project file management, email management, cloud software etc).

  • Knowledge of SAGE software would be advantageous.

  • Full UK driving licence.
