Project Liaison Officer

Job Role
To operate as the primary interface between residents and the Council during the life of cyclical and major works projects. Initiate, organise and deliver all communications with residents, and respond to all resident enquiries.
Take full responsibility for the handling and provision of information relating to capital schemes to colleagues, elected members and the Council's website.
Key Responsibilities
Working as part of a project team but also as an individual officer, take direct responsibility for the communication strategy for each project assigned to you. Act
as the "go to" person for advice/information on resident consultation for major works.
Undertake the design, content, printing, recording, distribution and follow up of all leaflets, newsletters, posters etc. required to deliver an excellent communications strategy for each project.
Provide responses to all incoming correspondence, concerning the projects to which you are assigned, from residents, colleagues, elected members, working
hard at all times to counter balance negativity.
Act as the Council's lead for all stage 1 complaints concerning major works projects, investigating those concerning the projects to which you are assigned.
Provide carefully considered objective responses in line with the Council's complaints procedure.
Develop good working relationships with colleagues elsewhere in the organisation to assist you with your work, in particular consultation staff working within the Council's Homeownership Unit, departmental and central complaints officers, area housing officers and Housing Partnerships teams.
Acquire a good understanding of the workings and management arrangement of Tenant Management Organisations (TMOs) that exist within the borough. Develop excellent working relationships with TMO managers specific to projects you are working on.
Work closely with existing Tenant and Resident Associations (TRAs) specific to your projects, to ensure excellent channels of communication between the council and residents on major works projects. Encourage and assist with the formation of new TRAs, where none exist and where felt appropriate.
Develop excellent and productive working relationships with counterparts working for contractors (resident liaison officers).
