Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Project Manager on behalf of one of our clients.
Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel however all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working under the applicable regulations and requirements of the company and the industry.
- Assisting with technical aspects of conducting hydrographic survey operations including vessel mobilisation, data acquisition, processing and reporting of hydrographic data.
- Assisting with technical queries from clients and team members and problem-solve for colleagues working offshore.
- Assisting with compilation of company hydrographic survey procedures.
- Working as part of a team of technical specialists.
- Liaising with clients to provide tenders and results in appropriate formats.
- Supporting the hydrographic survey manager to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Contributing to hydrographic survey strategies regarding projects, tasks, and operations current and future.
- Supporting the hydrographic survey manager to ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met.
- Developing an extensive knowledge of hydrographic and department processes.
- Reporting any potential technical issues relating to clients, project over-runs, etc. to Hydrographic Survey Manager and/ or Managing Director.
- Assisting with QA for projects within the hydrographic survey department.
- Any other duties and responsibilities as required for the role.
- Ensure that the requirements of the Health, Safety, Environment & Quality procedures, insofar as they affect works under their control, are properly implemented.
- Responsible for ensuring that risk assessments and method statements are followed by staff and contractors under their control.
- Initiate, implement and record safety inspections on projects they are directly involved with.
- Communicate to all personnel the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental procedures and applicable statutory requirements and ensure compliance.
- Continually engage with project teams and contractors to ensure that high HSEQ standards are being maintained at all times.
Skills and Qualifications:
- At least 5 years’ experience in project management.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Live locally or willing to commute to Hampshire office.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Have pride and passion for high quality survey work and customer service.
- Effective communication skills.
