Senior Project Manager - Systems Replacement - Public Sector - Glasgow6 month contract+ I am looking for a Senior Project Manager to oversee the replacement of a core system for a Public Sector client in Glasgow.This role requires someone who has successfully delivered similar projects from initial scoping through to requirement specification, vendor selection, and systems implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the entire project life cycle, from initial scoping and requirement specification to vendor selection and systems implementation.
Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather and define requirements.
Oversee the procurement process, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement regulations.
Manage vendor relationships and ensure deliverables meet specified requirements.
Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Experience of successfully managing end-to-end system replacement projects.
Strong understanding of the project life cycle and best practices in project management.
Experience in requirement gathering, vendor selection, and systems implementation.
Familiarity with public sector procurement processes and regulations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred:
Previous experience working within the Public Sector.
Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
