Role: Civil Engineering Project Manager

Salary: £65k- £75k plus full benefits package 



Location: Camberley- Surrey



Our client is looking for a enthusiastic Project Manager to join their growing business in the Surrey region. The company are professional and friendly with lots of ambition. They work with local authorities, leading principal contractors, designers and infrastructure providers across the South East. They mainly work as a subcontractor who specialise in delivering minor civil works.



The main requirement of the role is to manage delivery of the company's framework contracts for Highways and Local Authority Structures and Drainage works. These works are based in the South-east with the majority being within Surrey.



As a Project Manager you will deliver reactive minor works and planned capital schemes. As a business they are depended upon their problem solving and applied engineering knowledge. As such they require someone who can develop a scheme from a simple remit or analyse programme and temporary works constraint of a fully designed scheme.



No two projects are the same, so a key attribute in the right candidate will be technical aptitude, the ability and confidence to learn and apply new or innovative methods. Our client is looking for someone who will work collaboratively with their customers as they want all parties to succeed in their projects.



They have a team of excellent Site Managers who will work under this role, and they look to their Project Managers to manage their own time, this enables working from home, at their offices and on site.  



The right candidate will help develop their client's reputation and grow the businesses customer base in the region.



 Key Responsibilities:




  • Directly manage Site Engineers, Gangers, General Operatives, Plant Operatives, and Subcontractors.

  • Develop and manage project programs, budgets, and schedules.

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

  • Liaise with clients, designers, and other stakeholders.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are met.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks.

  • Prepare and present progress reports to senior management and clients.

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in civil engineering

  • Full UK Driving License

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Proficiency in relevant project management software

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities

  • Relevant engineering qualifications and certifications



Knowledge, Skills and Experience




  • Aligned to organisational values and behaviours of action-orientated, ambitious, integrity, collaborative and inclusive.

  • Strong stakeholder / communications skills.

  • Experienced with leading and managing a team of professional staff.

  • Significant experience of one or more of the scope areas of: Transport Infrastructure, Construction and Ground Engineering, Civil Engineering.

  • Experience of implementing an integrated design and safety approach.

  • Experience in developing a scope of works and undertaking the specification, management, and oversight of contracts for design.

  • Sound understanding of the CDM regulations.

  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme professionally qualified person or similar card holder.
