Job title: Project Manager

Salary: £53,928



What you’ll be doing:



  • Establish and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships maintaining regular communications and managing expectations

  • Manage risk at a programme level ensuring co-ordination and feed in with IDT’s

  • Manage the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Capability document including providing updates as required to the customer and submitting alongside commercial proposals

  • Support the Project Governance schedule including adherence for all contractual obligations

  • Manage redundant materials for both production and engineering tasks

  • Accountable for delivery of the projects that sit at the overall contract level


Your skills and experiences:


Essential:



  • Degree-level qualification (engineering discipline preferred) or qualified by experience with demonstrable Project Management delivery experience

  • Formal training in Project Management (accredited by APM, PMI or PRINCE)

  • Strong customer and supplier relationship management both internal and external


Desirable:



  • Knowledge of scheduling and risk software tools (e.g. MS Project & Predict!), as well as experience of SAP

  • Defence experience

  • Experience in managing risks and opportunities to the benefit of the projects

The Project Management team:


The role will be directly supporting the Next Generation Munitions Solutions (NGMS) contract which commenced in January 2023. This is a 15 year contract for the supply of munitions and capability which represents a continuation of the enduring partnership BAE are privileged to have with the UK Armed Forces, particularly the British Army worth in excess of £3 billion. The contract guarantees the delivery of munitions products and engineering support to our Armed Forces, whilst demonstrating excellent value for money for the UK tax payer.
