The Company

A privately owned Main Contractor based in West Yorkshire with a fantastic track record of being a large employer within the local area. At current, they operate across multiple work streams including Retail, Leisure, Historical and Commercial sectors with projects valued from �100k - �3m+.

The Role

Project Manager (Small Works) delivering New Build & Refurbishment and Fit Out projects across Yorkshire ranging in value (�100k - 32m+).

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

As the Project Manager (Small Works), you must possess the following;

  • 5+ years' experience working as a Project Manager for a Main Contractor (�100k - �2m)
  • Prepared to work unsociable hours to ensure project success
  • Prepared to travel across the North of England for client and site meetings
  • A good communicator, able to deal with a range of people, tasks and obligations
  • Commercial knowledge and ability to negotiate terms with a range of parties
  • Well organised, self-starter, able to implement procedures and effectively manage all aspects of the works

Duties

  • Reporting to the Director
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Enforce on labour selection and delegation
  • Assist with project procurement requirements
  • Write and update project programmes
  • Attend meetings for the agreement of final accounts
  • Post contract liaison with clients
  • Manage and value variations
  • Placing sub-contract orders
  • Sub-contract negotiation and letting
  • Allocate site supervision in accordance with scheme complexity
  • Identify and on-board new subcontractors to support the business growth agenda
  • Undertake comprehensive supplier reviews
  • Identify cost saving opportunities and develop operational plans for implementation
  • Develop a strategy to drive consistency & improve quality of delivery
  • Ensure all work is carried out in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with company specification
