Rate of Pay: £17.77 - £22.26 per hour Summary: The Property Accounts Officer is responsible for managing income collection related to Home Ownership Services (HOS), including service charges and arrears recovery. The role involves overseeing a portfolio of accounts, advising customers on payment options, handling disputes, and taking legal action when necessary. The officer will also provide welfare benefits advice, liaise with external agencies, and support legal proceedings to ensure effective debt recovery and compliance with relevant legislation. Responsibilities: Maximize HOS income collection by meeting personal and organizational performance targets. Advise HOS customers on service charge payments, loans, reductions, and available payment options. Respond to complex queries, disputes, and formal complaints from customers, MPs, and Members. Monitor and manage a portfolio of accounts, taking early action to prevent arrears. Provide welfare benefits advice, conduct means testing, and assist with direct service charge payments. Knowledge & Experience: Strong knowledge of Landlord & Tenant legislation and service charge regulations. Experience managing income recovery and arrears collection within a property-related environment. Familiarity with financial control procedures, accounting systems, and debt recovery processes. Experience preparing legal documentation and representing an organization in court or tribunals. Ability to conduct welfare benefits assessments and provide financial advice to leaseholders.
