PRU Teaching Assistant Wanted in Monmouthshire

Job Description:

Education Supply Pool is currently supporting Monmouth Pupil Referral Service (MPRS) to help recruit Teaching Assistants for their provisions in Chepstow, Abergavenny and Monmouth. Candidates would need a minimum of two years' experience working with children in school settings or preferably PRU (pupil referral unit).

Education Supply Pool are looking for an someone who is an experienced, resilient, and passionate teaching assistant, dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children being troubled in education. (MPRS) have a few different roles and is tailored to the member of staff's experience via the head of service.

The candidate will be working with children that may have been excluded from school, they may be home tutored due to medical reasons, it could be that they have relocated and no place available in the local school.

There is a potential chance that the PRU Teaching Assistant could be needed to cover a unit in a high school, i.e. Monmouth Comp. Or it could be that they work at one of their provisions listed above.

Schedule:

  • Day shift (08:30 - 15:30)
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

The successful candidate:

  • Minimum of NVQ Level 2, CACHE Level 2, BTEC, BA (Hons) Education or experience working within an education setting
  • Have the relevant Education and Training
  • 2 Years Experience within a PRU Support Assistant setting.
  • Assist with preparing lessons in all areas of the school curriculum with consideration of varied levels of student abilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Provide simulating activities whilst ensuring hygiene and safety rules.
  • Maintain a supportive and clean classroom environment.
  • Be attentive to the unique needs of each student and be able to identify proper solutions when children encounter issues.
  • Great communication skills to collaborate with other teachers and families when needed.
