Pearson Whiffin Education are currently recruiting for an experienced PSHE Tutor who can teach in an Alternative Learning Provision in the Maidstone area . This particular role could be suitable for anyone with experience teaching young people of secondary school age. You could be a HLTA with classroom teaching experience, a teacher looking to transfer into the SEND space or an unqualified teacher or tutor seeking a fantastic new challenge apply today to discuss the role more!
This school seek teachers and tutors who are passionate about students' mental health, well-being, and developing the whole person with skills beyond the academic. They seek to support students who would otherwise struggle in mainstream schooling and ready them for further education and adult life. This school teaches the basics required in Maths and English alongside a more vocational learning programme.
This role will deliver a comprehensive PSHE programme of lessons to students aged 14 19 and will support the college in its wider goals. Teachers or tutors who can offer additional vocational subjects would be highly sought after as would candidates with SEND / SEMH experience or experience working in an Alternative Learning Provision.
The ideal candidate will:
Be able to teach PSHE to KS4 students
Promote and push students beyond their own potential to achieve higher than expected grades
Implement and follow school behaviour management policy
Teach mixed ability classes of students with SEMH
