Job Description

Currently we have an excellent permanent job opportunity for a registered psychologist to join our clients multidisciplinary team within their eating disorders service. Our client a private only mental health hospital with over 30 years' experience in delivering specialised, evidence-based treatments in outpatient, day patient and inpatient settings.

The eating disorders unit is a 9-bed inpatient unit, with up to 5-day patients attending. They have a specialist team which supports an innovative group program which combines psychology, skill driven and wellbeing groups to meet the needs of our patients in line with NICE guidelines.

Salary: Up to £62,000 (Pro Rata)

Position: Psychologist

Hours: Full and Part Time Considered

Setting: Eating Disorders

Location: Central London

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for adult inpatients and day patients at Nightingale Hospital, supporting high-risk individuals.
  • Provide individual and group therapy, adhering to best practices and NICE-recommended therapies (e.g., CBT-ED, MANTRA, SSCM).
  • Plan and deliver psychoeducation and process groups.
  • Present on Eating Disorder topics to varied audiences.
  • Evaluate and decide on treatment options considering theoretical models and individual complexities.
  • Perform and advise on risk assessment and management.
  • Support and involve carers and family members in treatment programs, including carer support groups.
  • Assist the EDU team in developing and implementing new therapy modalities.
  • Work autonomously within the eating disorders team with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team, participating in ward rounds, clinical, and community meetings.
  • Provide daily feedback on therapy and assessments to nursing and allied health staff.
  • Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Uphold and contribute to professional care standards, ethics, policies, and service development.

For this role, we're looking for someone who is:

  • HCPC registered as a practitioner psychologist
  • Experience in mental health
  • Able to demonstrate skills in conducting clinical assessments and psychological interventions.
