Job Title: Psychology Graduate - Teaching Assistant
Salary: £83.33 - £95.75 per day
Location: Wilmslow, Cheshire
Start Date: February and April start dates available
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Simply Education is proud to be working in partnership with local SEND and SEMH provisions across Cheshire. We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Psychology graduates to join our team as Teaching Assistants within these specialist settings.

Our schools take a pastoral approach to learning, fostering strong relationships with students to enhance engagement and academic progress. We support students with diverse needs, including Autism, ADHD, and behavioural challenges. As a Psychology Graduate, you will play a vital role in helping students thrive by providing structured support and encouragement. What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking individuals who are confident, resilient, and able to build strong relationships with young people. Ideally, candidates should be available for full-time hours (Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm) to provide consistency and stability for our students. Your role may involve working with small groups or on a one-to-one basis, helping students access their learning and develop essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, helping them access their learning and develop key skills.
  • Support students with emotional regulation and social development.
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour effectively and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Assist students with personal organisation and study techniques to improve engagement and independence.
  • Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, and transitions between activities.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.
  • Assist the class Teacher in delivering engaging and tailored learning opportunities.
  • Support students in re-engaging with education and developing key skills.
  • Promote and model high behaviour expectations.
  • Build positive relationships with students to inspire and motivate them.
  • Work closely with the Teacher to prepare students for life beyond school.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Understanding of working with disengaged students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A excellent Level of spoken English is essential for the role.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable but not essential.
