Are you detail-oriented and organised with a passion for finance? We are seeking a reliable and proactive Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. Responsibilities:

  • Process and reconcile purchase invoices in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Ensure all supplier accounts are up to date and accurately recorded in the accounting system.

  • Match purchase orders to invoices and resolve discrepancies.

  • Assist in managing supplier queries and resolving invoice-related issues.

  • Prepare and maintain supplier payment runs, ensuring timely payments.

  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure that purchases are processed correctly.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and supplier details.

  • Support the Accounts Payable team in daily accounting tasks and administrative duties.

  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and other compliance reports.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Purchase Ledger Clerk or in a similar finance role.

  • Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes and accounts payable procedures.

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal teams.

  • Proficient in using accounting software 

  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.

  • A positive and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and improve processes.


Desirable:

  • Knowledge of VAT, tax, and financial regulations.

  • AAT qualification or working towards one is advantageous but not essential.
