Our client, a leading wholesale business is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Purchasing and Inventory Analyst to join their purchasing team. This role is integral to supporting procurement by delivering actionable insights and ensuring data-driven decision-making within a fast-paced and ambitious organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Track and evaluate supplier performance, including purchase volumes, delivery timelines, and cost trends.
  • Provide actionable insights to enhance supplier negotiations and streamline procurement processes.
  • Monitor market price fluctuations and recommend strategies for bulk purchasing or cost optimisation.
  • Analyse slow-moving stock and propose liquidation or utilisation strategies.
  • Generate reports on aged stock and recommend promotional or discount approaches.
  • Analyse historical sales data to forecast demand and guide purchasing decisions.
  • Assess margins by comparing purchasing costs with selling prices and highlight opportunities to improve margins.
  • Assist in warehouse selection for supplier orders based on efficiency and demand.
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in procurement analysis or supply chain analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel skills for creating dashboards and dynamic analysis tools.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAGE for procurement and inventory analysis.
  • Proficiency in data visualisation tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable results through data-driven recommendations.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on actionable insights.
  • Collaborative mindset to work effectively with the purchasing team.
