Job Title: Purchasing Assistant
Salary: �25,000 a year
Hours: Part Time (flexible)
Location: Woolpit, Suffolk
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Purchasing Assistant at an equipment supplier, who will be part of the purchasing team, placing & chasing orders, making sure everything is in stock & up to date in business. The ideal candidate has a flexible approach, is organized, and has great attention to detail.
Responsibilities:- Assist in procuring equipment and supplies, ensuring timely delivery.
- Prepare and process purchase orders according to company policies.
- Communicate with suppliers for product information, availability, and pricing.
- Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new ones.
- Monitor supplier performance and report issues.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers.
- Monitor market trends to anticipate price changes.
- Handle administrative tasks like filing, data entry, and scheduling.
- Process invoices and purchase requisitions.
- Respond to inquiries about orders.
- Track inventory levels and initiate orders as needed.
Requirements: - Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within an equipment supplier or similar industry.
- Basic understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective supplier and internal interactions.
- Excellent administrative skills for managing paperwork and documentation.
