A globally recognised manufacturer of precision components to the aerospace, defence and high technology sectors has a new vacancy for a Purchasing Manager to join the team. You will be responsible for overseeing the procurement process, managing supplier relationships, cost reduction and ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and services. Candidates are sought who have worked in a high-volume precision manufacturing environment with good management skills and a strong business acumen.







Commutable from: Southampton, Portsmouth, Fareham, Worthing, Havant, Chichester, Winchester.





Salary: � 52,000 - � 70,000 + benefits

The Role





Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with business objectives.



Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.



Manage supplier relationships to maintain high standards of quality, delivery, and service.



Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure optimal stock levels.



Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production schedules and operational requirements.



Manage the development of all volume purchase agreement negotiations and agreements.



Coordinate negotiation strategies with suppliers.



Develop purchasing pipelines and achieve savings in excess of annual targets.



Ensure that the department is appropriately represented at group meetings.



Develop a culture that supports process management and continuous improvement.







The Person





Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or Senior Buyer gained within the manufacturing sector.



Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.



Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.



Knowledge of supply chain management and inventory control.



Familiarity with ERP systems.



Previous leadership experience with a hands-on approach.



CIPS qualification highly desirable.



A strategic thinker, you will be able to influence and implement change.
