This is a key appointment for the business, and the appointed Purchasing Team Lead will sit on the Senior Management Team. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead and manage the purchasing team to deliver value-driven, sustainable solutions that mitigate risk. Key Responsibilities Oversee Purchasing and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) Develop and execute purchasing strategies Source and schedule materials to meet production needs/customer requirements Negotiate prices, contracts, and supply agreements Monitor supplier performance for quality and cost-effectiveness Manage supplier KPIs Engage in New Product Development (NPD) processes, working cross-functionally to introduce new products Manage inventory risks and report production performance Enhance ERP system accuracy for supply chain data Forecast demand to ensure consistent supply availability Liaise with suppliers, internal teams, and customers Conduct market research to predict price trends Maintain stock levels and ensure timely supply receipt Build strong relationships with key stakeholders Support continuous improvement and cost optimisation Reporting Qualifications and Experience Essential: 3+ years in a similar role within manufacturing environment Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems Solid understanding of MRP Desirable: Experience in manufacturing Familiarity with SAP software Personal Attributes: Excellent communication skills Proactive and analytical with strong problem-solving abilities Effective time management and organisational skills. Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong interpersonal skills and team player Flexible and adaptable How do I apply?
