Claxton are currently looking to hire a QHSE Advisor on a full time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to gain exposure to both decommissioning and renewable activities in the energy industry. The ideal candidate will join a local QHSE team based in Westhill, focused and motivated to drive the delivery of QHSE improvement plans, support QHSE compliance, with the overall aim of promoting a positive culture of care within the Claxton organisation.


The role is predominately site based at Acteon House, as a key requirement is the provision of QHSE support to both project and workshop personnel. It's a progressive environment, shaped by a dynamic and forward-facing management team that recognise and adapt to challenges whether they are technical, organisational or process based. The ideal candidate for this team will be result orientated, disciplined and adaptable, possessing good planning and organisational skills. Claxton also provide a supportive platform for personnel who wish to develop their careers further, with a mixture of learning and development options to enable succession planning through all the departments.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Supporting and coordinating of QHSE continuous improvements plans and programs working with the relevant stakeholders to facilitate their implementation.
  • Supporting the Regional QHSE Manager in overseeing that QHSE systems and procedures.
  • Supporting the monthly QHSE meetings and where actions are raised, assisting in expediting them to closure.
  • Supporting and conducting risk assessments and their reviews to detect potential hazards and plan precautionary measures, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assessing and verifying that risk control measures from risk assessments are being applied and identifying improvement areas.
  • Performing workplace inspections, reporting, and recording findings in Intelex and overseeing that effective close-out is obtained.
  • Conducting and participating with internal and external audits.
  • Assisting and leading where relevant, in the investigation of non-conformances, hazards, near misses and incidents, to establish immediate and route causes, recommend corrective actions and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Reviewing subcontractor and visitor requirements and associated risk assessments and oversee that they are complied with.
  • Supporting the Quality Engineer with inspections of physical goods and corresponding documentation during assembly, as per the defined requirements.
  • Collaborating with other Acteon QHSE role holders, to promote QHSE best practice in Acteon House.


Requirements

  • Level 3 certificate in a Health and Safety qualification.
  • Membership or working towards membership of a recognised industry body (IOSH for example).
  • Experienced in a similar role.
  • Understanding and awareness of behavioural safety programmes.
  • Occupational health, mental health, and quality improvement strategies.
  • Minimum 2-years in a QHSE position covering single or multi-site organisations.
  • Inspection and workplace auditing experience.
  • Exposure to coaching and mentoring practices and techniques.
  • Excellent "customer" facing skills e.g., influencing, negotiation and problem solving.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
