Qualified Accounts Technician (4 Day Working Week)

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE As a Qualified Accounts Technician you will support the smooth running of the Finance function, supporting the Finance Director and Company Accountant in accurately recording, analysing, and reporting financial data. You will ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations while providing timely and insightful financial information. This is a temporary contract for 18 months. ACCOUNTABILITES This role will involve the following responsibilities: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances to include expenses, bank deposits and payments. Assist with the preparation and presentation of management accounts. Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, answering inquiries, and ensuring compliance with audit requirements. Utilising our ERP system effectively to streamline processes, improve accuracy, and enhance reporting capabilities. Prepare and submit statutory reports including, VAT returns, EC Sales and Intrastat returns. Help establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity and in line with financial laws, regulations and internal procedures. Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, providing financial expertise and support as needed. SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Essential Skills & Experience Qualified Accounting Technician or similar by experience At least 2 years experience in a similar role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficient in Microsoft Office Packages, in particular Microsoft Excel Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
