Randstad are looking for Qualified Social Workers to join Manchester City Council's Forensics Service.

Manchester City Council's Adult Social Care Services are committed to providing high-quality support to vulnerable adults across the city. The Forensic Social Work Team plays a crucial role in assisting individuals involved in the criminal justice system, ensuring they receive appropriate care and support to promote rehabilitation and community reintegration.

£36,124 - £38,626

Responsibilities:


  • You will assess and address the needs of individuals and families involved in the criminal justice system.
  • Your role will involve providing counseling, case management, and advocacy services, as well as offering expert testimony in court when required.
  • You will collaborate with various agencies to develop and implement effective support plans, aiming to reduce recidivism and enhance the well-being of service users.
  • Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of clients, including those with mental health and substance abuse issues. Develop and implement tailored intervention plans to address identified needs.
  • Therapeutic Support: Provide individual and family therapy, as well as crisis intervention services, to support clients in managing challenges and facilitating positive change.
  • Case Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes. Participate in case conferences and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
  • Advocacy and Court Involvement: Advocate for clients' rights and needs within the criminal justice system. Provide expert testimony in court as required, ensuring that clients receive fair and just treatment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with criminal justice agencies, community organizations, and other service providers to coordinate and ensure the delivery of effective services.
  • Professional Development: Stay informed of current developments in the field of forensic social work and attend training and continuing education opportunities to maintain professional competency.

Requirements:


  • Social Work Qualification or equivalent

  • Social Work England registered
  • Enhanced DBS
