Bawnbua Foods is a leading NI food business established in 1985. Supplying into the retail, food service and food-manufacturing sectors, we offer a range of primal, value-added and cooked meat items from our production base in Northern Ireland. We currently have an opportunity for aQuality Assurance Managerto join our team. Job brief: We are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to work within our technical team. Working within a busy department you will report to the Technical Manager and will be involved in all areas of Quality, Technical and Food Safety. Your goal will be to help us ensure that our products meet customer expectations and ensure that Food Safety is maintained. Responsibilities To maintain the Quality Manual and systems to the required BRC standard To liaise with customers and suppliers regarding any quality or food safety issues To liaise with the supply base to ensure compliance with Bawnbua supplier approval criteria To supervise and manage the QA staff and Hygiene staff To ensure that all QA records are completed, recorded and filed accurately To work with the Production Manager and Supervisors ensuring that all production activities meet the required standards To work with the Management Team to ensure technical audits are managed effectively To understand the role of the Technical Manager and be able to deputise To display a proactive approach to quality improvement initiatives To have an active role within the HACCP team, including updating risk assessments, hazard analysis and product flows To collect samples and to analyse microbiological results To dealing with customer complaints in a timely manner To manage the equipment calibration schedule To deal with day-to-day quality issues and to resolve anomalies To ensure all corrective actions are implemented and monitored Requirements Clean UK/EU driving license Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working in Quality / Technical role. Third level qualification Degree or HNC/D in a relevant food related discipline Ability to effectively plan and organise to meet deadlines. Strong IT skills and an ability to record and present information in a concise format. The ability to work well under pressure and to play your role in a busy team environment. Excellent communicator with positive leadership skills
