RSW are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Assurance Technician for their client, a specialist manufacturer based on the outskirts of Cardiff. Due to the location, the successful candidate MUST be able to drive and have their own transport. Excellent progression opportunities available for the right candidate.





Job Purpose:



The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the required production standards before leaving the site, upholding the company’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.





This role involves maintaining and managing the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring effective document control, and compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Additionally, the role supports the creation and review of critical quality documentation, work instructions, and dashboards, while performing various quality administrative tasks to support the department. 





Responsibilities:




  • Complying with all standards, internal policies and legal regulations.




  • Carrying out in-process quality inspections and audits.




  • Identifying and reporting non-conformities.




  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.




  • Maintain waste management system liaising with external providers.




  • Measuring equipment - control and calibration.




  • Assist in non-conformance system maintenance.




  • Assist in customer complaints system maintenance.




  • Assist in Quality Management Systems maintenance:



o Document control.



o Maintain quality dashboards up to date.



o Maintain quality documentation up to date.



o Create/update standard operating procedures where required.




  • Provide quality procedures training where required.




  • Keep training records up to date and maintain training matrix for all departments.




  • Participate in improvement projects.




  • Support the Quality Manager in internal and external audit preparation.




  • Deal/provide support with day-to-day quality issues.




  • Ensure product compliance with required standards.




  • Holiday/sickness cover for quality controllers.



Key Skills:




  • Attention to detail is essential.



Qualifications & Experience:




  • Proven experience of working in a similar role.




  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.




  • Understanding of technical drawings (desirable).




  • Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.




  • Computer literate - experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.




  • Experience of using manual measuring equipment – vernier calipers, micrometers etc.



Salary £29,000



Working hours are 7:30 – 4pm Monday to Thursday, and 7:30 – 2 pm on a Friday.
