Quality Assurance Technician

Quality Assurance Technician – Mitcham, London (SW19 2RR)
Salary: £31,000 per annum
Shift: Monday to Friday, Day Shift

Are you passionate about maintaining high standards and ensuring product quality? We’re looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join our team in Mitcham, London.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  

  Perform QA walkarounds daily to check for hazards, cleaning standards, pallet conditions, and compliance with FIFO procedures.

• 
  

  Strong on-floor presence alongside desk-based duties, ensuring direct support to operations.

• 
  

  Conduct internal audits, GMP audits, and H&S weekly checks as per schedule.

• 
  

  Support with new starter inductions, including food handler training, site tours, and health & safety training.

• 
  

  Maintain and update Quality Manual, Factory Procedures, Company Policies, and Technical Files according to new legislation or audit corrective actions.

• 
  

  Oversee HACCP, CCPs, allergen management, and process flow validations.

• 
  

  Manage traceability files, supplier information, raw material specs, and verify documentation annually.

• 
  

  Conduct calibration of equipment (weight scales, temp probes) weekly; manage external certifications (UKAS).

• 
  

  Carry out pest control file maintenance, follow up on corrective actions from routine visits, and manage on-hold procedures.

• 
  

  Lead COSHH annual revisions, staff training on manual handling, allergens, and equipment operations.

• 
  

  Support NPD processes by creating and amending labels, finished product specs, and utilizing Nutricalc for nutritional information.

• 
  

  Perform micro (environmental and finished product) testing and verify lab results.

• 
  

  Assist in packaging and goods-in areas during staff shortages.

Machinery Exposure:

• 
  

  Mixers, Conveyors, Weighing Machines, X-ray Machines, Fortuna (moulding machine), Ovens, Packaging Machines.

Requirements:

• 
  

  Previous QA experience in a food manufacturing environment is highly desirable.

• 
  

  Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.

• 
  

  Competent in Microsoft Office and technical documentation management.

• 
  

  Solid understanding of HACCP, GMP, COSHH, and food safety regulations.

• 
  

  Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
