Quality Controller at Regal Processors Ltd

Willis HR Consulting is advertising this position on behalf of our client, Regal Processors Ltd. Reporting to the General Manager, the Quality Controller will: Control allsite QC activities including laboratory services. Control compliance to Integrated Management System standards. Facilitate customer audits and DAERA audits. Liaise with European customer services team. Liaise with European Quality and Regulatory team. Provide technical support to management team. Provide technical support to raw material procurement team. Ensure all finished goods conform to specification. Key Duties Include: Inspect and test all raw materials to ensure vendor compliance with specifications and established procedures. Advise disposition of off-specification product. Review daily raw material intake registries and communicate any issues to Logistics Manager. Inspect, test and monitor current production in accordance with established procedures to ensure compliance with product specifications. Monitoring processes include the following: Advise General Manager to stop production when process out-of-control. Maintain and audit quality data records, including LIMS. Monitor sanitation process, including conducting sanitation inspections, spot checking personnel practices and advise General Manager of any problems relating to monitoring pest control programs. Certify integrity of finished goods when tests are completed. Release lots of finished products when tests are completed. Quarantine off-standard lots. Assist in investigation of quality complaints. Inspect finished product for quality of workmanship. Managed through central LIMS system. Have a working knowledge of all laboratory practices to ensure coverage when technician is off. Assist in the investigation of customer complaints and update central database. Provide technical support to daily operations and management to develop effective solutions when processing problems occur. Supervises and assists in technical operations such as taking samples, examining/analysing product, recording results and taking appropriate action in accordance with established procedures. Review and recommend changes/improvements for maintenance of sanitation and current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Maintain and evaluate documentation, report and update management on opportunities for improvement. Assists in hiring, training and evaluating performance of department employees. Assists management with department budget, forecasting costs, and needed equipment. Maintain standards associated with Integrated Management System, including - ISO 9001 ISO 14001 GMP B+ (manufacture of feed materials HACCP based system) ISO45001 (assist H&S Manager) Work with Production Manager and Customer Services Team to maintain relevant production stock registries. Assist Customers Services department with relevant QA documentation associated with finished product dispatches, including applying for and liaising with DAERA in relation to Export Health Certification. Essential Criteria: Relevant third level qualification. Knowledge in the use of Microsoft computers software. Knowledge in the use of LIMS. Experience in delivering compliance to standardized systems, such as ISO9001; GMP; HACCP. Knowledge of current relevant EEC and national legislation. General knowledge of science biology; microbiology; chemistry. Knowledge, skill and ability to operate routine laboratory equipment. Ability to drive and maintain a valid drivers license. Alibility to assist in work related areas as required. Good communication skills. Able to work in a team as well as individually.
