Job Title: Quality Controller (NIGHTS)
Location: Preston Area
Remuneration: Annual salary range from �35,000 to �38,000
Contract Details: Permanent, Night Shift (6pm to 6am Mon-Thurs)
Responsibilities:
Our client, a leading organisation in the textiles industry, is seeking a Quality Controller to join their team. As a Quality Controller, you will be responsible for auditing, monitoring, and evaluating quality systems and procedures. In addition, you will provide technical support for the operational teams while maintaining and promoting technical and quality standards in line with business needs and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and apply the organisation's Quality Standards to ensure compliance with company, customer, and legislative requirements by setting standards and monitoring good manufacturing practises.
- Conduct audits to assess compliance against Quality Management Systems, raising any non-conformances and providing objective evidence for the operational teams to take appropriate corrective actions. Follow up and monitor the completion of actions.
- Perform product testing and internal audits as per specific schedules or requests. Assist the Department Manager/Operations Quality Manager in conducting full investigations, including traceability, for out of specification results and customer complaints.
- Provide technical support and advice to the Factory teams, seeking guidance from the Department Manager/Operations Quality Manager on any technical issues such as prerequisite management, calibration of measuring equipment, labelling, raw materials, and traceability.
- Collaborate with the production teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in technical control.
- Support NPD trials and product launches, managing testing and product life assessment to ensure that products are manufactured to the correct standards.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft programmes.
- Previous experience in a similar role or related areas.
- Ability to challenge existing processes and suggest improvements.
- Able to anticipate and consider the bigger picture in analysis and recommendations.
- Ability to summarise key findings.
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset.
