Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Brough

Salary: �35-�40k

Monday-Friday with an early Friday finish

Purpose of the Role

To support the Quality Manager, while playing an active role in overseeing manufacturing and engineering processes. The role involves identifying quality issues, implementing solutions, optimizing production processes, reducing waste, and improving product quality.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Deputise: Step in for the Quality Manager as required.

* Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant standards.

* Problem Solving: Identify quality issues and recommend corrective actions.

* Internal Audits: Conduct internal audits as required to AS9100 and ISO 14001 standards.

* Quality Projects: Manage quality improvement projects to enhance the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.

* Supplied Product Returns: Handle investigations into product returns, verify rejection reasons, and communicate requirements to vendors to ensure timely corrective actions.

* Quality Management System: Host customers and third-party auditors during their visits to assess the Quality Management System.

* Vendor Communication: Manage the return of supplied products to vendors, ensuring proper documentation and export controls.

* KPI Management: Oversee supplier and quality KPIs, using data to drive continuous improvement.

* Additional Duties: Carry out any other tasks reasonably requested by the Quality Manager.

Person Specification

Essential:

* Proven experience in a similar quality engineering role.

* Strong communication skills.

* A solid understanding of health and safety requirements in both manufacturing and office environments.

* High attention to detail, particularly for documentation.

* A keen eye for quality.

* Computer literacy.

* HNC/HND or Degree in a relevant discipline.

Desirable:

* Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.

* Familiarity with 8D and 5 Whys methodologies.

* Experience in conducting risk assessments and accident investigations.

* Experience in internal auditing.

* Full driving license.

* IOSH Managing Safely Qualification.
