Overview:
We are seeking an experienced�Quality Manager�or�Quality Engineer�with a�metallurgy background�to join a leading manufacturing company. This role will be integral in ensuring the highest quality standards in the production of metal components, with a particular focus on aerospace manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a similar quality management role, with the ability to manage a small team and drive improvements within the quality assurance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the quality control processes for metal products, ensuring compliance with industry standards, including�AS9100�and other.
- Oversee and mentor a small team of quality engineers and inspectors, providing guidance on day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and professional development.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) to ensure adherence to quality standards, improving efficiency and reducing defects.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conformances, ensuring continuous improvement of processes and product quality.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory standards and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues, optimize manufacturing processes, and ensure consistent product performance.
- Manage customer complaints and quality feedback, leading investigations and resolutions in a timely and professional manner.
Candidate Requirements:
- Education:�Degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of�3-5 years of experience�in a�quality management�or�quality engineering�role within�manufacturing, with a strong focus on metals.
- Previous experience in the�aerospace industry�or working with�aerospace-grade metals�is highly desirable.
- Experience in managing a�small team�and driving continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of�metallurgical processes�and�metal testing�techniques (e.g., tensile testing, hardness testing, NDT).
- Familiarity with quality management systems, such as�ISO 9001,�AS9100, and other aerospace-related standards.
- Proven ability to perform�root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and manage audits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience with�Lean Manufacturing�or�Six Sigma�methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with�metallurgical testing�and inspection standards specific to aerospace components.
