Our client in Shrewsbury are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Inspector to join their growing team. The Quality Inspector will be responsible for ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability by implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes, conducting inspections, assisting with root cause analysis, and conducting technical reviews of documents and drawings.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Quality Inspection

  • Conduct detailed inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain inspection plans, procedures, and work instructions.

  • Utilise various measurement tools and techniques to verify product specifications.

  • Record and analyse inspection data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Work closely with engineering, production, and suppliers to address any quality issues.

  • Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and related documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.

  • Verify that product designs meet quality and reliability requirements.

  • Provide feedback on technical documents to ensure clarity and feasibility.

  • Ensure all revisions of documents and drawings are properly recorded and controlled.

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve discrepancies and improve design quality.

  • Develop and maintain quality assurance documentation, including control plans, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams.

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes for non-conforming products.

  • Participate in internal and external quality audits, addressing any findings or recommendations.

  • Train and mentor production staff on quality standards and inspection techniques.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 9001).

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

  • Use data-driven approaches to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality improvement projects.

  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and techniques (e.g., callipers, micrometres, shadow graphs).

  • Experience with quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes relevant to our industry.

  • This position may require occasional travel to suppliers and customer sites.

  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
