We are currently recruiting for a Quality Technician to join our team at our Forticrete site in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, LU7 4SD.
Role Summary : Quality Technicians ensure the quality is to the correct standard for roof tile production and the product is made to the required specification
Candidates do not essentially need to have a Quality background but the ability to understand a process and relate sample data to correct and improve it are desirable. Training will be provided to the successful applicant.
The role involves being a member of a multi-functional quality team aiming to achieve key targets within Quality, Safety and the Environment.
Responsible for : Batching, receipting & checking raw materials, quality checks, cleaning & maintenance of plant, H&S in production/testing area
Key Responsibilities Include:
? Ensuring strict safety / quality standards adhered to
? All raw materials. Check, correct material & source, visual check oversee delivery discharge.
? Moisture content incoming sand, main mix & screw mixer
? Carrying out standardized quality checks on the full range of products produced, raw materials, bought in goods, packaging, returned goods and plastic fittings.
? Assisting in QA system audits.
? Assist in maintaining Quality Management System.
? Assist in root cause analysis as part of a team (8D Procedure including Root Cause Analysis 5 whys GO-Look-See)
? Monitor & ensure correct mix design used for each production line
? Analysis of data to maintain control
? Working with the technical / production team to improve processes and complete project works
? Drive continuous improvement and communicate importance of quality to team members and other company departments.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Knowledge of concrete production & roof tiles
Knowledge of material properties.
