Quantity Surveyor Construction

Straight-Line Civils are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a background in heavy civils to start on sites in York and Carlisle.

Responsibilities: (includes but not limited to)

• Preparing bill of quantities, budgeting, and cost control for projects


• Working closely with our engineer & accounts for measuring works on site & submission of monthly valuations


• Managing and negotiating with clients, suppliers and subcontractors


• Handle contracts meticulously to ensure the company is safeguarded in respect of contractual notifications progress, cost, quality etc


• Working closely with managers to ensure financial goals are met


• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the heavy civils industry


• Experience with New Engineering Contracts (NEC)


• Willingness to commute


• Valid driving licence

The job is a permanent site-based position in York. The candidate will have to travel to Carlisle once a week.

This salary is negotiable/dependent on experience but will include a company car.
