Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing



We are looking for aQuantity Surveyorto join a leading provider of high-quality new homes and property refurbishment services. Job Summary:



The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management, contract administration, and project financial control. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing costs and ensuring the financial success of our construction projects.

  • Salary:��45,000 - �50,000 per annum



Key Responsibilities:




  • Cost Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.

  • Tendering: Lead the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and selecting suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Valuations: Prepare interim valuations, final accounts, and project cost control.

  • Contract Administration: Administer contracts, manage variations, and ensure compliance with contractual terms.

  • Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess progress, measure works, and ensure projects are on track and within budget.

  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyse data to provide insights on cost performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Client Liaison: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.



Requirements:




  • Education:�Degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.

  • Experience:�Experience in a quantity surveying role within the construction industry.

  • Technical Skills:�Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, CATO).

  • Numeracy:�Strong numerical and analytical skills with an attention to detail.

  • Communication:�Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Teamwork:�Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

  • Organisational Skills:�Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Problem-Solving:�Ability to identify issues, analyse data, and propose effective solutions.
