Our agile policy allows for flexible working, where we promote office attendance coupled with home working, if desired.The Commercial lead is a Fellow of the RICS and actively encourages those that desire to join the RICS via the various routes available. Apply now and we’ll be in touch.Key Responsibilities·Work with Operations team to produce accurate CVRs in respect of the periodic business review process·Provide commercial input including financial and Contractual performance forecasts to the management team·Highlight potential risks and opportunities to the Senior Quantity Surveyor·Assessing Contractor applications and seek authorisation from Project or Programme Managers·Final account compilation / submissions / Contractor reviews·Assisting Project / Programme Manager with Works Order pricing·Identification of variations and processing in line with Contract requirements terms·Attend pre-start meetings with Contractors or Customer where required·Contribute to routine / monthly performance meetings between Contractors and the business units·Review and delivery of Commercial briefings. Compilation and circulation of Commercial newsletters·Collation of information relating to disputes with Customers and Contractors for senior peer review·Frequent travel between NPg offices, depots and construction sites.Key Competencies•Contractual knowledge and ability to interpret key contract terms•Excellent communication, report writing, presentation and IT skills•Possess an appropriate qualification and have sound commercial and business knowledge•Understanding of the utility industry•Ability to work as part of a team•Punctual, organised and efficient, with good problem-solving capabilities.Qualifications and AttributesEssential Qualifications and Experience•HNC or above in Quantity Surveying•Relevant experience in the construction industry•Experience administering a range of contracts•Experience with scheme finance and commercial management•Full, current UK driving licence.Desirable Qualifications and Experience•Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)•Experience in the utility construction industry with a complete understanding of electricity distribution infrastructures•Experience of commercially managing large framework contracts.Visit northernpowergrid.com/careers to find out more about this and other career opportunities.​Posted: 07/03/2024Closing date for applications: ​ ongoingApplicants are considered on the basis of their suitability for the post irrespective of sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender re-assignment, race, age or disability, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
