Sellick partnership are currently assisting in the recruitment of a Quantity Surveyor based in Sunderland to support a large social housing organisation on an ongoing temporary basis.

Working in asset delivery this role will lead on and ensure the effective commercial and financial management of the organisations planned, compliance and sustainability related investment programmes.

Duties of the Quantity Surveyor:

  • Take the lead in the commercial management of planned, compliance and sustainability investment work programmes ensuring full ownership of all financial matters to the schemes appointed to lead
  • Support the effective planning of the delivery of the Groups investment programme to maximise efficiencies
  • Work collaboratively and manage relationships with suppliers ensuring appropriate management and liaison with internal and external stakeholders including the appointed contractors
  • Effectively review data, information, and assets, inputting local and specialist knowledge into the financial planning process with the production of individual and accurate cash flow models including cash flows on your appointed schemes monthly and quarterly
  • Monitor the performance of contracts and contractors against tenders and budgets and provide associated cost information, challenging variations, and cost increases
  • Effectively monitor and control financial budgets contained within projects and the overall financial management of investment works.
  • Provide input as required to the development of the organisations asset Management Strategy, investment standards, investment plan, and procurement strategy
  • Effectively contribute towards stock and option appraisal of asset

Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor:

  • A recognised degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying or considerable demonstrable and relevant experience
  • MRICS - Chartered Quantity Surveyor desirable
  • Full UK drivers license
