Quantity Surveyor wanted!The RoleAs the Quantity Surveyor you will be working for a established Maintenance and Refurbishment Contractor you will be managing a contract from start to completion, supporting the operational team, quoting works, procuring & managing subcontractors, measuring works, application process, experience in dispute resolution. Previous understanding and experience in operating an open book / target cost pricing model would be a real advantage, however, it is not essential. The role covers projects across Newport and Gloucestershire overseeing a total value of projects up to £6million per year, delivering responsive, voids, compliance and capital works.Key ResponsibilitiesManaging the day to day commercial administration of contracts as assigned to include cost modeling, invoicing, cost reconciliation and supply chain procurement & management along with all reporting responsibility.Achieving ResultsProcurement & management of subcontractorsMeasurement of completed works using SoRs and basket rates for planned workEnsuring timely and accurate composition and production of applications, invoices and final accounts.Commercial negotiation with client to agree value for completed worksManagement of the commercial reporting for the contracts assigned to you; CVR reviews, monthly reporting to SMT & Board as required.Ensure that all jobs costs are charged correctly including, timesheets, purchase invoices and subcontractor costs.Liaise with clients both internal and external in relation to your contract prepare, produce and present all required reports and documentation as requested.Actively manage margin within business targets and expectations.Managing the ProcessParticipation in the monthly Regional Review MeetingConsistent provision of timely and accurate documentation associated with the contracts reporting structure/timetable, invoices, applications, commercial performance reporting and forecasting.Develop and manage all areas of contract cost models.Effective application of cost control proceduresEnsuring that the administration of Sub-contracts is at all times optimised.Final accounts are managed in a timely, commercial and constructive fashion.Supporting the Operational lead and Commercial Manager at all times with detailed information and updates as required.Ensuring compliance with the Companys policies and procedures in respect of Health, Safety, the Environment, LIBMS, I.T. and Human ResourcesDelivering all reporting and commercial analysis relevant to an Open Book/Target Cost Model as neededCosting and pricing adhoc works using NHF rate, basket or bespoke pricesPreparing and presenting pricing and analysis internally to senior management and to the clientManaging cash forecasting for the assigned contractsTechnical Skills and KnowledgeKnowledge of SOR, Open Book, Cost Plus pricing models would be of benefit but not essential.Commercial strategy and innovation to maximise profit and cash managementKnowledge and understanding of claims and dispute resolutionPreparation and understanding of financial reportsAbility to manage you own time and priorities work effectivelyKnowledge and management of sub-contract orders and an understanding of buying and estimating processesUnderstanding of management accounts and forecastingMicrosoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft OutlookOn OfferOn offer is the opportunity to work within a supportive and positive team culture with a business that offer development and training and career development.
