Our client is one of Europe's leading infrastructure contractors, specialising in the Engineering, Construction, Financing & Asset Management of major international infrastructure projects.Over the last couple of years, they have relocated their Head Office to London and are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to support the ongoing expansion plan of the organisation, working on Major & Mega international projects.Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities:Reporting into the UK based Project Director and based in Central London, the role requires an experienced Quantity Surveyor, from an infrastructure background (Rail, Metro System, Highways, Water, Airports etc), who has experience assisting design development and pricing, estimating costs, and delivering QS tasks in project execution.Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to quantify scopes of work and develop detailed Bill of Quantity (BoQ) schedules.Evaluate and produce project budgets and costing at various stages, including prospective projects, tender stage and ongoing projects.Work closely with project planner to identify and allocate resources required to deliver international infrastructure construction projects.Analyse and update budgets, BoQs, and other related calculations to support bidding documents and contracts.Continually update BoQs for design and construction changes and adjust budget projections accordingly.Collaborate with the Procurement Manager to define relevant specification for sourcing sub-contractors, goods, and services.Interact with engineering and procurement teams to understand requirements and appropriate volumes required for the construction and operations & maintenance (O&M).Measure and value the work done on site, reconcile variations to the design and work with the Procurement Manager to optimise the design.Produce regular reports on project budget and completion progress.Liaise with client technical site managers, commercial officers and advisers to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.Produce and maintain CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) reports and project forecasts, regularly reporting to the Project DirectorReview and assess subcontractor payment applications, ensuring timely submission of upstream AFPs (Approved for Construction Plans) to maintain positive cash flow.Attend project progress meetings and client commercial review meetings, providing commercial updates and insights.Identify, assess, and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies to minimise financial exposure and ensure successful project deliveryTypes of Projects:Stadium refurbishmentsRail, Highspeed Rail and MetroMajor Highway SchemesAirportsQuantity Surveyor requirements:Degree in quantity surveying or relevant field, ideally chartered with RICS/ICES or working towards chartership.Minimum of 8 years of practical experience at both tender stage and ongoing projects.Experience working within a tender submission team with an EPC Contractor on large international transport, power, water and commercial infrastructure projects with a value of 100M+.Proficient in numerical and data analysis using MS Excel and various MS software's.Good awareness of past and current building and construction technologies, processes, materials, commercial and construction legal matters.Excellent teamwork and communication skills.Proactive self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities.Foreign languages (French, Spanish &/or Portuguese) are an advantage but not essential.FIDIC contract exposure and international experience highly desirable.Currently holding a UK right to work (sponsorship not available).Quantity Surveyor Benefits:Opportunity to work for one of Europe's leading infrastructure contractors, on Major International Mega projects.Negotiable salary, 75,000 + excellent package (depending upon experience)Excellent benefits including: Travel Allowance, Company Pension (contributory), 25 days Holiday + stat, Income Protection, Bupa Private Medical & Dental Plan, Gym Subsidy, Lunch allowance, Free breakfast, snacks and drinks.Central London based, with flexible start and finish times to suit personal circumstances, and 1-day flexible wfh.To apply or for more information, please click the link.
