Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in the construction industry? Do you have a passion for delivering accurate and timely commercial support to project teams? We are looking for a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join our team and play a key role in ensuring successful project delivery by maintaining commercial compliance and supporting the achievement of our core business objectives.
Key Responsibilities 1. Reporting:
Ensure timely and accurate cost and value reporting at both project and business unit levels.
Oversee cash flow reporting and carry out cost management, including forecasting.
Update monthly CVRs, cost, and commercial plans to maintain precision and transparency.
2. Processes:
Ensure internal commercial processes are followed consistently across the business unit.
Actively seek improvements in processes and procedures to enhance efficiency.
Understand and assist in developing procedures for any JV/Alliance projects.
3. External Relationships:
Ensure terms and conditions for contracts entered into are appropriate, with commercial risks clearly identified.
Engage the supply chain with suitable contract terms to ensure seamless project progress.
Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster collaboration and trust.
Oversee subcontract letting, negotiation, and financial accounting, and prepare applications for payment.
4. Internal Relationships:
Work closely with the Commercial Team and operational site teams to ensure smooth communication and process adherence.
Support site management in forecasting costs and cash recovery in line with targets.
Share best practices and advise site teams on effective cost management.
Key Measures & Targets: Deliver accurate monthly forecasting.
Confidently challenge resources and costs to optimize project outcomes.
Maintain alignment with monthly commercial calendar deadlines.
Essential Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in the construction industry.
HND/Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
Familiarity with ICE/NEC 3 & 4 forms of contracts and Construction Law knowledge.
Strong commercial management skills, including subcontractor procurement and monthly reporting.
Proficient in estimation and cost analysis.
Strong communication, numeric, and IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
Desirable Skills: Membership in RICS or similar professional body, or working towards it.
CSCS card holder.
