Quantity Surveyor

First People Solutions is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of an established civils contractor based in Ayrshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a family run company renowned for delivering high-quality civil engineering and rail infrastructure projects across Scotland.

The Role:

Reporting into the Commercial Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial and contractual success of a variety of civil and rail projects. From tendering through to project completion, you will work closely with project teams to deliver cost-effective and commercially sound outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts and subcontracts.
• Manage project budgets and prepare accurate cost forecasts.
• Measure and value work completed on-site and ensure timely payments.
• Provide commercial advice and support to project teams.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Produce detailed reports on project performance and profitability.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience in Quantity Surveying within civil engineering, rail, or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
