About the role of Quantity Surveyor

As a Quantity Surveyor on this major highway's infrastructure project, you will be a key part of the team managing the financial aspects of the project, focusing on complex civil structures such as bridges, resurfacing, and pavements. The project involves a range of term maintenance activities, and you will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure the project is delivered within scope and budget. This is a high-value, multi-phase project, offering a dynamic and collaborative working environment.

Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor

  • Oversee cost management, including budget estimation, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor project expenditure and assess variations to ensure the project delivers value for money.
  • Liaise with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to manage financial and contractual obligations.
  • Lead procurement strategies and contract negotiations across different project phases.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and manage any contractual claims or disputes.
  • Oversee payments, final accounts, and risk assessments to maintain control over project finances.

Requirements for Quantity Surveyor

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Proven experience in highways infrastructure, with a focus on structures, bridges, and resurfacing.
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts or similar contract forms.
  • Strong financial reporting, cost management, and risk mitigation skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, particularly with stakeholders and contractors.
