Job Overview

Leading Ductwork and Ventilation Contractor has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor for its regional office in Romford. Office based role wit some flexibility.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cost control and will play a crucial role in managing project costs from inception to completion. This position requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders in the construction industry.

Project values range from �50k - �2m in value.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.


• Monitor project budgets and expenditures, implementing effective cost control measures.


• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to inform project planning.


• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project specifications are met.


• Prepare tender documents and assist in the evaluation of bids from contractors.


• Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.


• Provide regular reports on project progress and financial status to management.


• Assist in dispute resolution regarding costs and contracts as necessary.

Requirements

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.


• Proven experience in cost control within the construction industry is highly desirable.


• Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret complex data.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.


• Proficiency in relevant software applications for quantity surveying and cost estimation.


• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality in all work produced.
