We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 main contractor based in East Kent, focusing on delivering high-quality school projects.



The Role: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in managing the financial aspects of school construction projects from inception to completion. This position, located in Canterbury, offers a dynamic work environment where your expertise will directly contribute to the successful delivery of critical educational facilities.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for school projects.

  • Monitor project costs, providing regular financial reports and forecasts to senior management.

  • Oversee procurement processes, including negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Conduct site visits to assess project progress and address financial challenges.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.



Requirements:




  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in managing school projects.

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects from inception to completion.

  • Solid understanding of construction contracts and procurement procedures.

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
