We are working with an established Manufacturing company based in Derbyshire, UK.�

They are recruiting for a R&D Mechatronics & Software Engineer to join their team.

In return for a salary in the region �40.000 - �50.000 along with excellent employment benefits.

As they expand into the clean energy market, we are looking for a R&D Mechatronics and Software Engineer to join their growing team.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Design and develop Electronic Pressure PID controllers capable of controlling pneumatic or hydraulic media


• Design computer-based software to act as interface for the PID Controller

The electropneumatic controller is intended to operate by comparing pressure feedback signal against a setpoint pressure signal and adjusting the feedback signal to match the setpoint signal every 20ms.

Feedback pressure signal is provided by either its internal pressure transducer or a customer provided external pressure transducer.

Based on the amount of error between the setpoint and the feedback signal, the solenoid valve S1 is either feeding into or venting pressurised gas out of the control chamber in response to a microcontroller Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) received. If the feedback signal is higher than the setpoint, current or voltage to S1 is reduced to enable the valve to start venting off excess gas to the low-pressure chamber until feedback matches setpoint +/- 0.03%.

Conversely, if the feedback signal is lower than the setpoint, current or voltage to S1 is increased to enable the inlet valve to start opening and current or voltage to S2 is increased to enable the valve to start letting in pressurised gas from the high-pressure chamber until feedback matches setpoint +/- 0.03%.

The setpoint of the Internal pressure transducer will be configurable either with an on-board trimmer or with a computer installed software.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent


• Interest and some experience in engineering areas such as control system modelling and development (PID and beyond), precision machine design, and even coding in python, LabVIEW, and MATLAB.


• Experience designing software for Windows application.


• Pro-active and able to take the initiative
