Key ResponsibilitiesThe overall responsibility of the R&D Test Engineer is to define and conduct the independent testing of new and updated software and hardware products. Key responsibilities include:Producing test plans for software and hardware productsDesigning flexible test environments to suit the test plans and department requirementsAutomating tests using appropriate environment (scripting, user interfaces and test rigs)Conducting testing on new or updated hardware and softwareConducting internal training courses on new products and new product features Skills and Experience RequiredProduct testing of embedded systems (software and hardware)Proficiency in Python (or other languages) for scripting and developing graphical user interfacesKnowledge of Linux (Ubuntu)Knowledge of networkingKnowledge of audio testingKnowledge of Voice over IP solutions (SIP and Dante)Knowledge of electronicsPersonal Qualities Required The successful candidate will:Be a team player who is comfortable working in a close-knit team and building strong professional relationshipsHave good communication and documentation skillsBe able to work independently and pro-actively in order to make decisions, solve problems and drive issues to conclusionsHave good organisational skillsHave strong technical skills and a desire to develop theseEducation & Qualifications Degree in Computer Science or Electronics EngineeringPreferably an ISTBQ certification (minimum basic level)
