Reception Year Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support their Reception class. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality learning experiences, support children’s development, and create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. This role begins March 2025.

Duties as a Reception Year Teaching Assistant:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
\n
• Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities.
\n
• Work with small groups or individual pupils to support learning and development.
\n
• Help to monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
\n
• Encourage children’s social and emotional development through positive interactions and play-based learning.
\n
• Support children with personal care needs when necessary.
\n
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, stimulating, and organised classroom environment.
\n
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
\n

Ideal Reception Year Teaching Assistant:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
\n
• Experience working with young children, preferably in an early years or primary school setting.
\n
• A strong understanding of child development and the EYFS curriculum.
\n
• Patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach to working with children.
\n
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills as a Reception Year Teaching Assistant.
\n
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
\n
