Job description:
ON A NORMAL DAY, YOU WILL
New medicines discovery is based on clinical trials. In our Leeds Clinic we perform the first stage of testing in human subjects: phase 1 studies.
Our experience shows that having a Recreational Coordinator in place completely changes the experience for the clinical trial participants: they are more engaged and adherence to protocol procedures increase.
This is why we need you. To
design
and
implement
the entertainment and social welfare of volunteers/patients
during their stay at the clinic . Well trust you to:
Organize and implement programmes of entertainment activities to meet the needs of participants based on length of the study, age range, gender, study requirements and restrictions, and within specified budget.
Entertainment planning, building an ongoing calendar of activities which is inclusive and creatively meets the multiple needs of participants of all ages and conditions.
Conduct your projects according to the procedure and schedules as determined in the relevant SOPs and study protocols.
Ensure that the dignity, health, safety and welfare of volunteers is given the highest priority at all times, conducting your projects according to Good Clinical Practices, SOPs and protocol procedures, and Fortreas cardiac resuscitation policy.
Prepare all relevant documentation, rooms and equipment required to perform the activities.
Maintain close and timely communication links with Senior Managers, Clinical Operations and Research Nurse Supervisors to ensure all teams are informed of any deviations from the study protocol.
Required profile:
Leisure or Recreation management expertise gained through education, training and experience, ideally in a
residential ,
nursing ,
kindergarten
or
retirement home
setting (we are also open to
event planning , or
summer/holiday camps - or similar background)
Previous experience planning, organizing, structuring and implementing programs of activities and events that meet a varied group (in gender, age, physical conditions) needs.
Strong sense of empathy and understanding of the needs of patients in a healthcare setting.
Ability to also implement rules, regulations and codes of conduct on behavior in a regulated setting.
Outgoing personality, creative, showing enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for bringing joy to others.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds and health conditions.

Leeds . This is a world class, state-of-the-art 65,000 ft clinic with 100 beds (and growing), fully dedicated to Early Clinical research (and 7 minutes walking from the train station!)
And this is where you come in because we are seeking the
Recreational Activities Coordinator
of our new Clinical Research Unit.
This is an
office-based ,
full-time
and
permanent
job, working hours are
37 hours per week , five days over seven.
You will typically work Monday to Friday, some weekends may be required (which will be compensated with flexi time or overtime pay.)
