Purpose of the role:


The UKI is one of the biggest ice-cream markets in Europe and the world, delivering nearly £500m turnover across Retail, Out-of-Home and D-COMM channels.


This role is an exciting opportunity to join a high performing team who are responsible for growing market share and business development in the Out-Of-Home Channel. Working closely with Head Office contacts and the buying teams you will be expected to compile and delivers JBPs, equipment strategy and grow sales through the development and interpretation of data and insights. Delighting our customers and consumers with the portfolio of Unilever Ice Cream brands will be central to the success of this role.

  •  Account Manager / HR Business Partner


Unilever: 



  •    Customer Account Managers – Executing joint business plans for key Managed Leisure customer base

  •    Annual Review, field accompaniments, weekly 1-2-1s, Monthly team meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews

  •    Wall's Refrigeration Solutions team – managing cabinet requirements


Customer: 



  •    Existing “base business” customers – all relevant points of contact

  •    Head Office Group Accounts management at Head Office level


Accountability and Responsibility 


Deliver Territory Strategy & Sales Growth Targets 



  •    Execute D.A.V.E (Desire, Attract, Visibility, Execution)

  •    Identify new opportunities for Growth or Defend

  •    Work with Unilever Managed Leisure CAM's to ensure delivery of targets by     executing JBP's / customer briefs.

  •    Identify new opportunities to place Premium equipment

  •    Maintain sales performance through data capture

  •    Conduct B&J Scoop Shop audits in line with the B&J Retail team


Executing Joint Business Plan Management (HO Account Management) 



  • Creation of JBPs with HO Accounts – working with Unilever CAM to build P&L's

  • Identify the primary customer needs of customer and utilise Unilever's investment to secure maximum sales growth in line with profit goals

  • Ensure regular reviews with customers to monitor and maintain performance versus plan

  • Maintain sales performance through data capture


 Contact Strategy



  • Full responsibility to deliver contact strategy for existing customer and new prospect portfolio including maintaining accurate records using CRM system

  • Territory/Executional accounts and HO Accounts

  • Provide training support to customers to ensure operating standards for ice cream are maintained including cabinet care, scooping etc to ensure customer's sales and profit opportunities are maximised


Skills / Experience Required:     



  • Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Develops customer relationships to retain business whilst growing new opportunities

  • Tenacity to execute business plans and ensure that these are delivered on time and per brief

  • Strong organisational skills to plan contact strategy efficiently and manage diverse range of customer needs and efficient journey planning

  • Range of communication skills tailored for business environment and customer preferences

  • Track record of delivering sales performance 

  • Full UK drivers licence

  • Live on territory. Ideally Leeds/Manchester area. The territory covers the Northern Region of the UK, not including Scotland

  • Overnights maybe required


Desirable 



  • Strong passion for delivery, implementation and constant evaluation of business

  • FMCG / Ice Cream / Catering / Retail experience

  • Point of sale execution, tracking and evaluation

  • Negotiation skills including use of “contracts” to maintain Wall's presence to agreed levels

  • Examples of maintaining data through MS systems

  • Analytical skills that identify opportunities growth and mitigates future risks

  • Participating as part of a team in a pro-active manner, supporting colleagues to perform at very best
