Registered Manager

Location: Near Evesham, Worcestershire

Salary: £53,600 (OTE)

Hours: 40 hours per week

The Role

The main purpose of the Registered Manager is to be responsible for providing outstanding care for their young people. You will be responsible for overseeing the effective day-day running of the Residential Home, and to be responsible for a team of staff and allocation of work. As a manager, you will be constantly assessing the need of the home, and at times this may require you to work directly with the children. As a manager for one of their homes, you will be striving to achieve an Outstanding Ofsted rating. 

Key Responsibilities 


  • To manage the home in compliance with OFSTED, legislation and the ethos and policies of the company.
  • To be involved within the Safer Recruitment of Staff
  • To develop the Staff Teams knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding practice and processes, and by leading, coordinating and resolving safeguarding matters as required, to ensure that Children’s safety is always paramount. 
  • Undertake staff supervisions, appraisals and probationary reviews, and oversee the day-day management of your wider team, to include managing any performance issues should they arise.
  • To build and maintain professional relationships with external agencies such as Local Authorities, Police and Health agencies
  • To become the Designated Safeguarding Lead for Your Home.

Skills and Qualifications


  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare – Or equivalent 
  • Must be willing to undertake the Diploma Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) within the relevant date, if not already obtained.
  • Detailed understanding of current legislation, including but not restricted to:

    • Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Children’s Act 1989 / 2014. Working Together to Safeguard Children (#####) Health & Safety At Work Act (1974) 

  • 3 years’ work experience working with Young People within a residential environment including 2 years at a management level which has required you to supervise others within a care role to Children.
  • Previous experience in a Senior/Deputy or Registered Manager role in a Residential Children’s Care Setting
  • Experience of working with young people with emotional and behavioural issues and complex needs including challenging behaviour.
