Key Responsibilities As the Registered Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the care home, ensuring that the highest standards of care and safety are maintained. Your role will involve: 1. Ensuring a Safe Service: Safeguard residents from harm or abuse and manage risks effectively.
Ensure timely assistance from care staff for residents.
Assist with recruitment and mentor new care staff.
Oversee medication management and ensure accurate records.
Complete regular safety checks (fire, legionella, nurse call).
Manage the Deprivation of Liberty (DoL) process and mental capacity assessments.
Promote social activities and facilitate community engagement for residents.
2. Ensuring Effective Care: Assess and record residents' nutritional needs.
Organise and facilitate access to healthcare services.
Provide staff with regular training and supervision to ensure they have the skills needed for their roles.
3. Providing Compassionate Care: Involve residents and their families in decisions about care plans.
Promote a culture of respect, dignity, and positive relationships.
4. Ensuring Responsive Care: Regularly assess and respond to changes in residents' care needs.
Update care plans and ensure services are tailored to individual needs.
Listen to residents' feedback, address concerns, and continuously improve the service.
5. Leading a Well-Managed Service: Chair regular meetings with residents, families, and staff.
Foster an open, positive, and inclusive culture in the home.
Work closely with the service provider to ensure quality improvements and smooth operations.
What Were Looking For The ideal candidate will have: NVQ Level 5 / RMN / QCF in health and social care or equivalent.
Proven experience as a Registered Manager or senior leadership role within a care setting, ideally with elderly and dementia care experience.
In-depth knowledge of CQC standards and related legislation.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Competency in using care home management software.
