Residential Childcare Worker Waking Nights
Location: Ayr, South Ayrshire
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Salary: Circa £26,500 per annum; depending on experience and qualifications.
21 HSC are looking to recruit Residential Childcare Workers for waking night shifts on an exclusively retained basis for one of our clients based in Ayr, South Ayrshire. We have full-time roles working 36 hours per week, this will also include some weekend work. The waking night shifts will be from 7pm to 7am and you would work 3 shifts per week, there may also be overtime opportunities should you be looking for additional hours.
As a Residential Childcare Worker you will be supporting 2 children & young people with additional support needs within a new service that is being set up under the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
To work with children and young people with disabilities in an inclusive, nurturing, and person-centred way, promoting their best interests and needs at all times.
Establish positive relationships with young people and always offering them unconditional and positive regard.
To be involved in and organise activities which are in the best interests and meet the needs of the children and young people.
To liaise and collaborate positively with parents and partner agencies to ensure that the best interests of the young people are always respected and promoted.
To ensure consistency, safety and stability is promoted through healthy routines and structure that encompass the needs of the children.
Where and when required, in accordance with our policies, procedures and training engage in de-escalation techniques, safe holds and appropriate and proportionate physical intervention to keep children, young people and others safe from harm.
Qualifications and Experience:
Ideally you will possess an SVQ 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) and your HNC in Social Services or equivalent. Or you must be willing to work towards these qualifications.
Ideally you will have previous experience working with children & young people within a residential setting and/or experience working with young people with additional support needs.
You must be registered with or willing to register with the SSSC as a Residential Child Care Worker.
