North Tyneside Council in Newcastle is seeking caring and compassionate individuals to join our team as Residential Childcare Workers.
What you'll do:

  • Provide direct support to children and young people: You'll work closely with children in a residential setting, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical assistance in their daily lives.
  • Build strong relationships: You'll create a supportive and positive environment, fostering their emotional well-being and promoting their development.
  • Contribute to a safe and structured environment: You'll play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children, implementing routines and procedures to maintain a positive living environment.
  • Collaborate with a team: You'll work closely with other Residential Childcare Workers, supervisors, and professionals to develop personalized support plans for each child.
  • Embrace a rewarding challenge: You'll face a variety of situations and challenges, but also experience the immense satisfaction of helping children thrive.


What you'll bring:

  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children and colleagues
  • Patience, understanding, and a commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Min. 6 Months relevant experience working with children, such as in childcare or youth work
